Zombieland & Bakerella Goodness

This weekend has been pretty low key. Josh has had a really bad cold. I went shopping with my mom and Branson for a while Saturday afternoon. We had fun finding something for Branson for his 1st birthday coming up in a few weeks. He has learned to walk. He looks so funny walking because his legs move faster than his upper body does. Then Josh and I went over to Cody and Tara's. Tara made us dinner, she made us some very yummy Cocunut Shrimp. That is one of my favorite meals and she did a great job! Then today we went to see this movie... I wasn't very excited to see it. I had only seen one preview for it and thought it looked kinda stupid. Well it was hilarious! A little gruesome at times but dang funny!
We went back over to Cody and Tara's to have some yummy chili since it was such a gloomy, cold day. Tara and I had seen a post on Bakerella. She had made some pumpkin pie bites and they looked so yummy! We were excited to make them on Friday night but since Josh was really sick that day we decided to do it today. They were so good!
The boys always have so much fun playing Halo with each other even if it does get a little heated at times. Thanks you guys for having us over for dinner for two nights this weekend!

The Weekend Pt. 2 More Cleaning & Lucy's 1st Birthday

After Noah's game, I went back to Shannon's to do more cleaning. Rosie came and started folding like a million socks, seriously I've never seen so many socks, while I did the sweeping, mopping and more laundry. Before I headed home, Rosie and I went out to dinner. By the time we got done it was getting pretty late and Josh didn't want me to drive home alone that late so I stayed another night at Shannon's. The kids were happy to have me come back, so we fell asleep in Lu's room again watching Harry Potter. I got woken up early in the morning by the storm that was coming in. I watched the lightning for a while. I love watching lightning!

I got up and had breakfast with DJ, who was attached to me all weekend long, then got busy doing more cleaning and laundry. We had our niece, Lucy's, 1st birthday party Sunday afternoon. I had never met her until Sunday, and boy is she cute! It was so fun to meet her and to watch her open her presents and blow out the candle on her first birthday cake. There were a lot of people at the party and the kids had lots of fun playing with their party bags.

The Weekend Pt. 1 Cleaning & Noah's Baseball Game

This weekend was a busy one for me. I went down to Draper on Friday night to help Shannon get her house cleaned up. She hasn't had very much time the past month because her dad had a major heart attack. So she's been busy getting the kids to school, to their activities and taking care of her dad's two businesses. And she moved into a new house before her dad's heart attack and some of the kids things were still in boxes. I talked to her Friday morning on my way to work and could sense the overwhelment in her voice. So I got down there Friday evening and got started on her house and got to spend time with my 3 favorite kids. Elizabeth, DJ and I all slept in Elizabeth's room and watched Hannah Montana.

On Saturday morning, I got started on Shannon's laundry, my oh my did she have A LOT! Noah had a baseball game in the early afternoon so I finally got to see him play a game! Yay! I wish Josh could have been there with me to see him, but he wasn't feeling very well. Noah played a great game, it was so fun to watch him and see how good he is. He got walked his first at bat but every at bat he got after that, he got an awesome, solid hits! He plays center field and is very good at fielding the ball. The game was a single elimination tournament so his team had to win to move onto the next team, but unfortunately his team lost. He was really upset about it, but he did such a great job. I'm so proud of him.

Look at the disappointment in his adorable little face, poor kid. He's grown so much in the past year, it makes me realize how much I've missed not being down there with them all the time. I miss being with those kids every day and watching them grow and learn new things. I love those 3 so much.

Hello Yoko

We did it...we got a new cat. Since Sammy died our family hasn't felt complete, something was missing. Sammy is still missing, but I just couldn't resist her. It took a couple of days for Josh to agree to get her and on Monday she finally came home. Josh named her Yoko. She's just itty bitty and isn't scared of a thing. She's not scared of the big dogs or Meow. Meow isn't too crazy about Yoko but is getting better with her everyday. She definitely doesn't replace Sammy, Josh and I still miss him all the time and have even caught ourselves calling Yoko Sammy, but she's fitting in the family really well.She has loved Josh ever since she came to our house. She cuddles and sleeps right up against him while he is sitting on the couch.

Lucky Number 9

Last week Tara told me about a job that was opening up at the doctor's office she works at and told me to hurry and send my resume in. So I hurried and updated my resume and she took it into work with her on Tuesday. She put in a good word for me (again Tara, thank you!) and I got an interview yesterday and got the job! I'm so excited to change jobs, I'm burnt out from my current one. I'm also excited that it is Monday thru Friday 9-5, no more weekends or holidays...Yay! It'll be sad to leave the friends I've made at TG and to leave some of my favorite residents but this new job will be exciting. It'll be scary at the same time though, new jobs always are.

Games and Adventures in Dog Breeding

We spent last weekend playing games and spending time with friends. Cody had told Josh about this Nazi Zombie game so Friday night we went over to Cody and Tara's to play. I'm not very good on the Xbox so I didn't play but the boys sure do love to play Halo and Josh had lots of fun playing the Nazi Zombie game. On Saturday night, we got invited by a friend of mine from work to go play Nazi Zombies at her house with her husband. We went and got some dinner at Jimmy John's, a new sandwich shop here in town, then headed out to their house to play. First Josh and I played Mario Kart on the Wii, it was so much fun, we really need to get a Wii. Then it was time for the Zombies! We played until the wee hours of the morning and had lots of fun. I finally did try to play a little and didn't do too bad!We aren't doing too much this weekend. I have to work and Josh has a couple of reports to do for school. Last night we got invited to Cody and Tara's for steaks that were yummy! Cody makes the best steaks. Their pug Athena is in heat so they found a stud for her and were wanting to try to see if they could get a litter of little puggies. Her boyfriend came over last night while we were there and it was hilarious! The boy pug was HUGE! And had a serious breathing problem, we thought the poor thing was going to have a heart attack. Athena didn't want anything to do with him and he just kept smelling her. She went and hid in her box, and the boy was trying to get into the box with her. We were laughing so hard at the two of them and the dog mating humor...let's just say Josh and Cody got attacked by the dogs. Things didn't work out and they took the boy back home today, too bad for Beana!!

Some Catch Up

I need to catch up on a few things we've done over the past little while that I haven't blogged about for my journal.
Let's see...last weekend Chelsie and Brian came home for the weekend and went camping out at Glendale. They told us all that if we wanted to see them while they were here we had to go out to the lake to see them, so Saturday after work, I went out there with my mom. Josh had to work so he missed out on the "family fun".

It's been a long time since I've really spent anytime out at the lake, since high school, so it was fun to be out there. My mom brought all of her beads out and all of us girls sat around and made some watch bands while the boys went fishing and made supper.

I also went down to Sandy a couple of weeks ago to help Shannon with her move and helped take the kids to their activities. I cleaned and moved stuff between her two houses for most to the day while she was at work and then took Lu to dance class and Noah to baseball practice. Lu is getting really good at dancing and can do all three splits, she's so much fun to watch. Noah has been playing baseball all summer,but we haven't gotten down to see him play so I was excited to see him even if it was at practice. He got some really good hits and also pitched a little. He's getting very good at it. He was so much fun to watch. I love these 3 kids as though they are my own so I'm so excited when I get to see them do what they love to do.
