The One With The Busy Weekend

Josh and I went over to Cody and Tara's on Friday night to eat dinner. She made lasagna and cinnamon crumb cake and it was yummy! The boys played Halo and us girls watched stand-up comedians on YouTube and laughed til we cried! Those guys were hilarious, my stomach and cheeks hurt from laughing so much! It was so fun...Thanks guys!

My mom and I had a baby shower for Brittiney, my s-i-l, on Saturday. It was great having our family all get together. Brit got some great gifts and we had lots of fun. But we're glad it's over. My little nephew will be here in 28 days!!

My Grandma Lowe and new baby cousin

After the baby shower, we went over to Bear Lake to hang out with my grandma, aunts and cousins. They were all staying over there in a condo. We went out to eat and went back to the condo to hang out. We don't get together with that side of the family very often so it was lots of fun. I can't believe how big all my little cousins are! They brought the Wii with them so the kids were very entertained. We tried that cell phone and popcorn thing but it didn't work. I heard some awesome stories of my mom's childhood, too. Hearing about going to the trash pile to dump the weekly trash, and how my aunt Shelly found out her rabbit had died after seeing it at the trash pile...Priceless! And what my grandma did to cope with having 6 kids...let's not talk about it.
We all met over at Willow Park on Sunday afternoon before they all went home to have some lunch and let the kids play. We walked around and looked at all the animals and had a good visit. It was a great weekend and was so good to see our family! My two aunts are also pregnant and due this next month and they are both having boys, too, so we'll have some fun new additions to the family!! Josh started another Ultimate Loser competition today through the gym so that's what we will be up to for the next two months!

Our Britty Bug

Our family dog, Brittany, passed away early this morning with my mom right by her, loving her and telling her it was okay to go. She was 13 years old, so we've had her for half of my life, and lived a really good life. She was so cute and such a fun little dog. She brought so much joy to our family and brightened my mom's life after the passing of another one of our family dogs. She loved when all of us kids were home, she loved to lick our legs after we put lotion on them. She loved to go for car rides. She was always so happy on Christmas morning. She sat in the middle of all the wrapping paper after the presents were all opened and just smiled. She loved it. We will miss her cute personality, making her roll over for her treats, watching her twitch when she wanted your attention. She will be missed by her best friend, Buddy. They had a lot of puppies together. She loved being a mom, that's when she was happiest. We are going to miss her so much.

I had today off so I went up to my parents' house and just the three of us had a little funeral for her. My dad made her a good box to be buried in and picked the perfect spot in their yard for her.

We love you Britty bug and we will miss you until we see you again!

We Will Never Forget

I will never forget the morning my mom woke me up and told me what had happened to the first tower and then watching the plane crash into the second tower. I will never forget watching them crumble and watching the people running down the street covered in dust. It was heartwrenching watching them search the rubble for people and all the friends and family members holding pictures of their loved ones frantically looking for them. I couldn't turn the news off for the whole week after it happened, I just sat and watched and cried.

I went to New York City in the summer of '99 as part of a church history trip. We got to walk down Wall Street and go up in the Twin Towers. I remember how fast the elevator took us to the top, it made me sick it went so fast. I remember walking through all the gift shops on the top floor and the restaurants. I got to look down on the streets of New York from the top and look out at the Statue Of Liberty from the roof. We were so high up. It was one of my favorite experiences of the trip. I love New York.

I am so grateful to live in such a great country. I'm proud to be an American. Sometimes we complain about the politics and this and that, but where else would you rather live? The USA is a great place to be!

It's Been A While

So I haven't blogged in a while, so let's see what we've been up to. Last Saturday, we went down to South Jordan for Josh's little brother's wedding open house. It was fun to see our family that we haven't seen for a while. Austin and Mylissa got married earlier this summer. I have to give a shout out to Suzanne, she is Josh's cousin and is so much fun to be around. She makes us laugh so much. She is pregnant and due in a couple of weeks and we are so happy for them!

Earlier that day, Elizabeth got to perform at Jordan High's football game half time. She was the cutest little cheerleader! I didn't get any good pictures of Lu doing her cheerleading because my camera was having a moment and my pictures weren't focused, and I was also taking pictures with Shannon's camera, but here she is with her friend Rachel. There was tractor lawn mower just sitting in the middleof the grass and DJ decided that he wanted to play on it but was NOT happy when his friend Anthony got on to play with him. He was so happy when he got to be on it by himself. Let's just say he has sharing problems...
DJ and Noah love to do break dancing moves and love the Step Up 2 movie so DJ was showing us his "moves" he called them, it was pretty funny. His mom kept telling him to settle down and then he would come up to me and say "but I want to do my moves". Then Josh started playing the piano and DJ wanted to play with him, he loves playing the piano with Josh.It was fun to spend time with our family and celebrate Austin and Mylissa.

This weekend was a dog filled, family filled weekend, too. Cody and Tara went to Arizona and Josh and I said we would watch Athena for them. She is the cutest little Pug girl and we love her.

My grandma also came up from Spanish Fork this weekend and it was fun to spend time with her. We don't see her very often even though we only live 2 hours away! We went to dinner last night and then to breakfast this morning. She came over and met our dogs and loved them. She had dog treats in her purse that she had for her dogs and forgot about them but Ringo found them real quick and then was looking for more! My grandma dumped her purse out so he could see there wasn't any more in there.

We hung out with Jade and Brittiney today, we haven't really hung out with them for a while so it was really fun. We went to Charlie's and got shakes and then went to see this movie...
It was not good.
But being with my little brother and sis in law was. Their baby is due in less than two months!! So excited to be an aunt!!

Happy 1st Anniversary to Cody and Tara!! I hope you guys had a fun weekend and you have many more great years together!! You are the best friends!! We love you guys!

Here is a video of Josh and Athena, I know Tara was Athena-sick while she was away from her so here is what she did with Josh all weekend!!
I also read this book this week. I loved it and couldn't put it down, I hate that my break at work is only 30 minutes!! I read every night at home while Josh played Halo. I loved the way the story ended.
